It’s all about the mix! Practical approaches to integrating soft skills development in your teaching and training.

Many ELT teachers and in-company trainers feel insecure with the thought of integrating the training of soft skills into their practice. In this hands-on workshop we will be exploring a range of easy-to-use activities that focus on training those key employability skills which have often been identified in many recent studies: communication, collaboration and creativity.

The activities can be used as separate training tools or they can be combined in a systematic process which enables the ongoing development of our learners’ behavioural skills.

Workshop participants will experience these activities and training process not only as learners. We will also be looking at our role as trainers and at how we can facilitate the learning process of behavioural skills by adopting these activities.

The process itself derives from a training approach which has enabled more open communication and innovation at companies such as Toyota, Siemens and many others. Tim is certified as an Innovation Trainer and Coach and brings to this process his 30+ years of ELT experience in a range of different contexts.

Depending on the Covid-19 situation at the time, the workshop will be held either in-person or online. Regardless of the format, the other training context – online or in-person – will be taken into account. In this way participants will be to able adapt their learnings to their own training environments.
