We’re  at it again!

ELTAS is happy to host the Inter-ELTA Members’ Day this year on October 22.

This event will be hybrid, with a minimum of 3 speakers on site and those from other ELTAs projected in separate rooms.

Online participants will be able to take part as they did for our last hybrid event on September 17, but this time we’re adding a new twist!

Schedule 

Beatrix Price will be our plenary speaker who will discuss the professional development of successful teachers, teacher trainers or leaders in their own organisations. Research shows that initially, smaller professional communities of practice provide a safe environment for members, such as Regional Branches (RBs), Special Interest Groups (SIGs) or Interest Sections (ISs), and local conferences have a significant role for further development. Members of these communities, originally being knowledge consumers, gradually became knowledge providers and motivators for other ELT professionals, take on volunteer positions, acquire various organisational and leadership skills, and at the same time continually grow personally and
professionally.
Beatrix works as a teacher and a teacher trainer at the Language Pedagogy Department at the School of English and American Studies, ELTE, Budapest. As a teacher trainer, she gives talks, workshops and courses, in Hungary and other countries, on Young Learner methodology, using art in ELT, extensive reading, and teacher development. Her interests include professional development, holistic education, using art in foreign language teaching, and professional learning organisations. She is the former president of IATEFL-Hungary and her doctoral dissertation is on EFL teachers’ continuing professional development supported by teachers’ associations.
