Blend to Perfection:  Blended Learning in the English language classroom

Blended Learning is an approach to teaching that combines face to face instruction with technology-mediated components. It promises a level of personalization for students often impossible in traditional teaching, while expanding the opportunities for learning and helping teachers chart progress and diagnose issues which may otherwise be overlooked.

Various models exist combining classroom teaching with individual self-paced activities and online collaborative tasks, which emphasis the social element of learning and the importance of communication. The model and tools chosen will depend on your specific context and the right blend will enhance students’ learning experiences and help them achieve their learning goals.

This hands-on workshop looks at good practice in blended learning and explores strategies and frameworks to get you started. We’ll try a number of tools that will help you create materials, redesign your courses and find your own perfect blend.

Please bring an internet-enabled device.
