ELTAS 2024 Year in Review: A Year of Growth and Connection
2024 was a year of dynamic learning and vibrant community at ELTAS! 😎 We kicked off the year with a thought-provoking workshop on “AI Empowered Teachers” led by the insightful Ahmed Samet, who incidentally was awarded the DAAD 2024 prize for outstanding achievements of international students studying at a German university at the Pädagogische Hochschule Ludwigsburg. Ahmed also generously shared his expertise in numerous online Tech Group meetings, guiding us through the ever-evolving landscape of educational technology.

In May, we delved into the fascinating world of “Exploring Media Training as an Educational Tool” with the engaging Konstantin Mikaberidze. This workshop sparked lively discussions and provided valuable insights for all attendees.

September saw ELTAS partner with Cert IBET, with Michelle Hunter and her freshly minted PhD. We offered a valuable certification course for English teachers seeking to enhance their Business English teaching credentials. This collaboration provided a unique opportunity for professional development and career advancement.

The highlight of our year was undoubtedly our summer party/workshop. It was held on what felt like the hottest day of the year! We enjoyed a relaxed and refreshing presentation by Rachel Paling, who expertly guided us through the ICF’s core competencies. It was a delightful blend of professional development and social connection.

Finally, Klett generously sponsored our “Merry Klettmas” workshop, where we celebrated the festive season with the insightful presentation of “Business Impact,” a new book edited and presented by Gillian Bathmaker. All on-site attendees received a complimentary copy of the book, adding a special touch to the holiday cheer.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our speakers, sponsors, and members for making 2024 a truly memorable year for ELTAS. We look forward to another year filled with exciting learning opportunities and strong community bonds.
