In this review of Pearson’s Wendy Nash-Steer workshop, it was refreshing, enjoyable and very interactive time about tips and tricks for online teaching: Zoom with “Boom.”
The workshop participants had a lot of interesting discussions in the breakout rooms about their individual experience with online teaching, their favourite tools, success and failures as well as sometimes funny situations when things went wrong.
Wendy underlined the importance of the teacher’s appearance, lighting, background on the screen, etc. We discussed and exchanged our online experience using the whiteboard, showing films, presenting new vocabulary (e.g. via the chat) among other things. We definitely learned a lot both from Wendy and from each other and certainly gained more confidence with online teaching.
After a tea break, Wendy presented Pearson’s online course version of „Roadmap“ and „Business Partner“ to us. „My English Lab“ is Pearson’s blended learning platform which is really very useful for teachers of the English language.
