The Blended Learning workshop with Pete Sharma on Saturday, 26 October 2019 was an informative event where the idea of traditional teaching met with newer ideas, which were not as scary as one might think when discussing the integration of technology into learning languages. What was particularly helpful was a guided feeling on effectively using class time by delegating some tasks for learners to do on their own, whether online or using some digitized device, and taking better advantage of class time for teacher’s input, help, clarification and direction.

By helping teachers see how these aspects can be integrated into the language learning experience of our students, they will hopefully provide a more complete, adaptable and flexible learning/teaching method. What’s not to like?

Some of the apps and tools that were mentioned at the conference were directly linked to the publishers of  English language learning materials, so be sure you visit their sites to make sure you are taking full advantage of the materials on offer. Other apps included Quizlet and Prezi, which can all be found either running a search online, or checking out your mobile phone’s app store.

We look forward to seeing you at the Christmas Workshop event on December 7!
