DESCRIPTION:Podcasts are having a revolution with Serial - the story of mur
 der and injustice - becoming the most downloaded podcast ever. They give u
 s access to free\, authentic resources to design stimulating tasks and dev
 elop our learners’ taste for authentic listening. In this workshop\, we
 ’ll carry out some tasks together and I’ll share my materials and ‚k
 iller’ project ideas.\n \n Participants will experiment with a series of
  listening tasks which can be taken from the workshop and used within thei
 r own classrooms with very little preparation or additional\n materials.\n
  \n Eliciting participants’ experience using podcasts in the classroom w
 ill allow the audience to evaluate the tasks within the workshop effective
 ly and create their own podcast projects after the workshop.\n \n Particip
 ants will then carry out a number of tasks focussing on different features
  of language learning: pronunciation\, vocabulary\, intercultural elements
 \, and skill development for autonomous listening. \n \n I will demonstrat
 e different ways of using podcasts and show participants how they can be\n
  used both for single classes and long-term projects. I’ll also cover ke
 y tips for creating successful podcast tasks and provide a selection of fr
 ee podcasts for those wanting to develop their learners’ authentic and a
