Over the last few years\, she has moved into the field of online learning by devel oping concepts and content for digital tests and online materials for stud ents at all levels of the Common European Framework. In 2017 she completed her MA in Technology\, Education and Learning. Her focus is on language l earning\, communication\, creativity and technology.\nDespite abundant inp ut and opportunities to communicate\, many students ‘get stuck’ and th eir language development seems to stop or fossilise before they reach a na tive-like state. This not only affects their skills\, but has an impact on their confidence\, motivation and self-efficacy.\nWe tend to assume that adult learners know how to learn. However\, regular reflection is needed t o raise students’ awareness of their errors and encourage them to analys e the strategies they use to address these. In this workshop we’ll refle ct on our own language learning journeys\, and look at how empowering lear ners to take responsibility for their learning can help prevent fossilisat ion.
