DESCRIPTION:Humour is not only a good way of creating a positive and relaxe
 d atmosphere in the classroom. It can also be used to actively support lea
 rners in acquiring language skills. The workshop will demonstrate a number
  of easy-to-prepare\, humour-based activities that can be used at various 
 levels to add an extra dimension to classroom work. And the workshop will 
 include one or two examples to put learners and teachers in the mood for t
 he festive season. \n\nDespite having spent many\, many years in Germany\,
  Geoff has continued to cultivate his British sense of humour\, and in par
 ticular has collected a myriad of examples of language-based humour. His t
 eaching experience covers adult\, further and higher education\, and he re
 gularly attends IATEFL and TESOL Conferences presenting new ideas on EFL. 
 He writes articles for various newsletters\, and he offers a biannual ‘j
 ocular journal’ entitled TESTING TIMES\, the Christmas 2017 issue of whi
 ch on the topic of BREXIT was published in the ELTAS Newsletter earlier th
 is year.\nAfter Geoff's presentation\, we will have time to mingle and hav
 e pre-Christmas Drinks and to get into the festive mood.\n&nbsp\;\n&nbsp\;
