DESCRIPTION:Make a start with Cert IBET at ELTAS: a taster of what you can 
 do for your ongoing professional development! \n\nTCDI designed this Cert 
 IBET at ELTAS workshop to start participants on the Cert IBET. To do so\,
  we aim to work through at least three of the thirty units that make up t
 he CertIBET programme.\nThroughout the afternoon\, we shall explore ideas 
 and concepts behind what it takes to be a business English trainer. Betwee
 n them\, Ben and Michelle have a wealth of experience which they enthusias
 tically share with colleagues\, while enjoying the opportunity to also lea
 rn from their TDCI participants.\nThe TDCI approach is very much focused o
 n learner autonomy and self-regulated learning. Through the Cert IBET at E
 LTAS collaboration\, the plan is to build a community of practice that can
  be called upon for the duration of TDCI.\nProgramme: \nEnglish UK design
 ed and set up the programme and and Language Cert\, who moderates the fina
 l assignment\, accredits it. As such\, it icludes fixed elements - time in
 vested in working through and reflecting on the content\, and writing the 
 final assignment. Normally\, the time limit is a full two years. Consequen
 tly\, with this solution the expectation is an earlier completion. With th
 at in mind\, there will be a check-in with the community in November and a
  group coaching event to help prepare for the final assignment in March 20
 25.\n\nWhat to expect on the day of the workshop: \n\n	A brief overview o
 f all the units on the Cert IBET plus talk about the end goal - the final 
 assignment - as well as what Language Cert / English UK expects.\n	Clarify
  how everything works with a distance learning model and how it has been t
 ailored for this special The Distance Cert IBET at ELTAS collaboration.\n	
 We'll work through the first 3 units from the programme and peer review ev
 eryone's response to the task for each.\n	With the first 3 units already u
 nder your belts\, we will confirm how the rest of the programme will proce
 ed (see flyer for the milestone meet up points).\n	At the end of the day w
 e'll be reflecting on how things went and how motivated everyone is to get
  their Cert IBET at ELTAS.\n\nFor this upcoming Cert IBET at ELTAS event\,
  it will feel like a usual ELTAS Saturday teacher development workshop.  
  So\, if you'd like to come along just for that\, there is no obligation 
 to sign up for TDCI beforehand.  Although you may want to by the end of t
 he session!\nSign up by Sept. 9th and guarantee your spot on the programme
  or come for the taster then decide.\nBio: Michelle Hunter\, Phd.\, is co-
 director and learning mentor with Ben Dobbs at Distance Cert Ltd. Together
  we run The Distance Cert IBET (TDCI)\, the self-regulated learning versio
 n of the renowned business English teaching certificate. Michelle has been
  a long-standing member of ELTAS and actively involved with the German ELT
 As for many years. She holds an MA in Coaching in Education and recently c
 ompleted a PhD in Education\, with a focus on how it feels to study and te
 ach through the medium of English. Before that\, Michelle had a career tea
 ching in-company BE courses and then university courses for over 23 years\
 ; she is a certified trainer\, business and personal coach\, and a women's
  development trainer.\nAll online participants will be sent a link for the
 ir participation the day before the event. Please make a note of this. \n
