From "Oh no what a disaster" to "YES to success!" with Andy Vogt-Nas followed by AGM DESCRIPTION:Unfortunately\, Tim Phillips (NGL) called in sick for Saturday and thus has to cancel his workshop on 21st century skills and reschedule  on a later date this year.\nAndy Vogt-Nas will step in and moderate an i nteractive workshop on what to do when disaster has struck and you don't h ave any material to fall back on. The lesson can still be productive and e ffective for your learners.\nWith the title\, "Oh no what a personal disas ter to YESSS- success!"\, we look at how to find ad-hoc teaching solutions \, in case of technical breakdown\, loss of lesson material\, spontaneous coverage of a colleague’s class.\nWhat can we do of the cuff to cover 90 min\, without any preparation - on the spur of the moment? This interacti ve workshop relies on your active brainstorming and creativity. A few idea s and tasks will be handed out to get your creative juices flowing.\nWe w ill collect all the different solutions and ideas you come up with and mak e them available on the ELTAS website after the workshop.\nAlso\, could yo u please bring with you your favourite teaching activity? This way we can set up a number of ideas and exchange thoughts  in the second part of th e workshop.\nBio:\nAndy Vogt-Nas\, the driving force behind our ELTAS work shops for the past few years and someone who steps up when disaster strike s. Using her personal experience\, together with your input\, we will put together a “first-aid” package of ELT activities to use in an emergenc y.\nAndy has an MA from Freiburg University in German and English.  She w orked as research assistant at the Max-Planck-Institute for Psycholinguist ics in Nijmegen (NL) and spent several years in the northwest of England d uring and after her studies. Andy has experience in teaching a very wide a ge range\, from toddler to OAP. For many years she was in charge of teenag e language courses in the south of England.
