Dina asked to create a short poem using the lexis provided – words such as sparkle, glow and shimmer.
Here is what our ELTAS members came up with:
As a teacher you need to sparkle, you need to glow.
Become a member of ELTAS and you will soon know,
How to run the show!
Your teaching will shimmer.
With ELTAS you can sparkle in a flash,
With the glow you can dash and shimmer as well and even excel!
There was a great teacher who gleamed
And she taught us until we all beamed
With a sparkle and flicker,
She taught us with glitter,
But it wasn’t at all what it seemed.
Here they come, sparkling eyes, flashing eyes, glowing cheeks,
just in time,
Listening, working, talking sharing all the time.
English teachers come and go,
Teaching’s great they love it so.
Despite the glimmer and the show,
The ELTAS workshops are always worth the go
You learn to sparkle and to glow and flicker different ideas as you go.
The glint and glisten of the show,
Forgets no one – as we know.
ELTAS you help me sparkle in class,
Without you I feel like an ass,
My students , with self-esteem they glow,
Teaching them I sometimes feel low.
ELTAS workshops provide a flicker of hope,
They give me ideas on creative ways to cope.
